Seattle Native | Wife | Mother of Three | Advocate for Kidney Health
Angela Rice is a devoted wife and mother of three beautiful daughters, proudly rooted in Seattle. A graduate of Garfield High School and Bellevue Community College, she has built a successful career as a Human Resources Specialist at a prominent healthcare facility.
In January 2019, Angela’s life took a challenging turn when she was diagnosed with Stage 5 chronic kidney disease due to hypertension and an endocrine disorder, compounded by a severe vitamin D deficiency. After both kidneys failed, she began home dialysis in April 2019, embarking on a long and emotional journey that culminated in a successful kidney transplant on January 10, 2022.

With unwavering support from her husband, who suddenly passed away on February 9, 2023, Angela emerged from this experience with a profound sense of purpose. Tragically, just a year after her transplant, she faced devastating loss when her husband of 26 years passed away suddenly from a heart attack. Angela honors his memory by sharing the love and support she received from him throughout her journey.

Passionate about educating others, particularly within the African American community, Angela emphasizes the importance of health awareness, regular medical check-ups, and adherence to prescribed treatments. She advocates for organ donation, hoping to inspire more individuals to consider becoming donors for those in critical need.

Driven by her experiences, Angela envisions establishing a facility where kidney patients can find community, share their stories, and receive emotional support. She aims to educate patients about healthy eating while on dialysis and provide nutritious meals to those who struggle financially. Recognizing the emotional toll of the disease, she is committed to creating a safe space where individuals can connect and find comfort, especially those lacking a strong support system.

Angela believes her survival and recovery are testaments to her purpose. Her mission is to uplift and support those battling kidney disease, offering resources and encouragement to ensure no one must face this journey alone. With a vision for a brighter, healthier future, Angela is determined to make a difference in the lives of others, fostering hope and resilience in the face of adversity.
